Central Missouri Master GardenersPresents: Water-Wise Native Gardening
Tuesday, June 24, 2025 (6:00 PM - 7:30 PM) (CDT)
Description
Because plants native to Missouri are naturally adapted to diverse growing conditions, there are native plants perfect for both dry and wet areas of your yard or property. In this presentation, learn about native plants that are drought resistant, and also about natives that can help you manage stormwater on your property and protect local streams at the same time.
As executive director, Carol Davit oversees the operations of the Missouri Prairie Foundation, a 59-year-old land trust, including Grow Native!, its 25-year-old native plant marketing and education program. She has worked for 27 years in conservation and environmental communications, development, administration, and leadership for private and nonprofit conservation groups, and also municipal and state governments. Editor of the Missouri Prairie Journal since 1996, Carol writes articles on native gardening, has edited field guides, and enjoys speaking to groups about native gardening, prairie conservation, and related topics. She lives in Jefferson City.
