K9s on The Front Line will host their 7th Annual Show Me Honor Awards Dinner at the Capitol Plaza Hotel. This year charity event consists of a cocktail hour with silent auction, a buffet style dinner provided by Argyle catering with guest speaker Retired US Army Command Sergeant Major Gretchen Evans, live and silent auction, all as we celebrate and honor one Missourian for their dedication and service to Missouri Veterans. All proceeds will benefit K9s on The Front Line, a 501(c)3 nonprofit providing service dogs to Veterans and First Responders at no charge. K9s on The Front Line provides service dogs to Veterans and First Responders to help manage the effects of PTSD and/or TBI. Veterans/First Responders are matched with carefully selected shelter animals based on their lifestyle and/or specific needs. In a small group setting, Veterans and First Responders and their future service K9s take part in a 22 week training program, led by retired military K9 handlers and the end result is dramatic- a fully trained PTSD service dog at no charge to the Veteran. K9s on The Front Line’s average cost to provide a service dog to a Veteran is $4,500 and the organization operates exclusively through privately raised funds and donations.
