How Jews Helped Create Missouri

Dr. Mara Cohen Ioannides will examine the history of Jews in the state from before the Louisiana Purchase through the First World War. Jews were in just about every township in the state and had an influence on the development of the state. Dr. Ioannides has written and spoken extensively on the subject around the world. She taught for more than 25 years at Missouri State University. She is president of the Midwest Jewish Studies Association and the founding president of the Ozarks Studies Association. Missouri Humanities co-sponsors this presentation.
