This is a newly created Business Development position supporting our expansion into a new and growing market. The individual in this role will play a key part in establishing our presence, building strong community and business relationships, and helping grow the Bank’s footprint from the ground up. Hours: Minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, occasional Saturday by appointment to meet client’s needs, some evenings and weekends to attend events on behalf of the bank

Job Overview
The Business Development Officer will be tasked with providing exceptional customer service to clients and prospects, as well as internal bank associates. This position is responsible for driving the growth of the bank by identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and promoting the bank’s financial products and services. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, expanding the client base and contributing to overall profitability. The Business Development Officer will significantly influence client decisions to help businesses succeed through efficiency, automation, and maximum utilization of assets. The Business Development Officer will partner with Retail Managers, Loan Officers and Digital Operations to present and onboard, administer, and support new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and referrals.
- Develop client relationships as a trusted advisor, recommending value added products and services.
- Conduct client needs assessments and recommend suitable financial solutions.
- Keep a working knowledge of digital banking solutions to effectively deliver non-credit products and services support, demos, or presentations.
- Actively engage with clients and prospects to market non-credit products and services, both independently and with Commercial and Retail associates.
- Prepare proposals and presentations for clients and prospects.
- Partner with all internal support teams to provide exceptional client service.
- Prepare and execute required documents accurately and timely.
- Provide ongoing support to clients and internal partners to ensure excellence in customer service.
- Achieve deposit and fee income goals.
- Assist with or lead training for commercial and Retail team on non-credit and Digital Banking products and services.
- Participates in the execution of the Bank’s strategic plan and collaborates with partners on the development of short- and long-term plans for non-credit products within the Bank.
- Serves as a member of the Bank’s Marketing Committee.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or equivalent is preferred.
- Proven experience in sales, banking, or financial services with 3+ years preferred.
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or Certified Cash Manager (CCM) designation is preferred
- Prior experience with non-credit products and services, preferred.
- Knowledge of commercial purchasing card services preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate training and sales activities.
- Strong conversational and active listening skills, with the ability to translate client needs into clear next steps and documentation.
- Results-driven with a track record of meeting sales targets
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and execute documents, follow established procedures, and provide responsive follow-up support to ensure excellent client experience.
- Strong leadership, time management, collaboration, project and task execution, and organizational skills.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple client relationships and projects simultaneously.
