Angela Hirsch has served as the Executive Director of the Rape & Abuse Crisis Service (RACS) since October, 2020.  Based in Jefferson City, RACS serves adult and child survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking in nine (9) counties in Central Missouri.  Ms. Hirsch began her career with RACS in the early 1990’s after earning a degree in Child and Family Development at Missouri State University.  As a court advocate within the criminal justice system and then establishing a victim services program for the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, Ms. Hirsch had the opportunity to earn her graduate certificate in Victimology from Washburn University.  

Prior to returning to RACS, Ms. Hirsch worked with communities, families and state and national organizations to address local causes and conditions of poverty in her role as Chief Program Officer for Central Missouri Community Action (CMCA).  During her 15 years with the organization, Ms. Hirsch transformed CMCA’s service delivery model from one of crisis intervention to community organizing and family support and became nationally recognized for her innovative and strategic approaches to poverty.

A trained facilitator, Ms. Hirsch has more than 20 years of experience in strategic planning, poverty simulation, nature and dynamics of domestic violence, interpersonal violence, poverty 101 and Compassion Fatigue facilitated trainings and workshops.  An international facilitator, Ms. Hirsch has worked with more than 500 organizations in 2 countries in these areas.

A native Missourian, Ms. Hirsch resides in Jefferson City with her husband while her two young adult children, one an attorney in Manchester, New Hampshire and one a RN in St. Louis, Missouri, begin their adult lives.
